Goodbye summer…

Well guys, wedding season is afoot!  We have been busy little bees here at Dulcetta.  We have a bunch of great products coming out for our clients that we can’t wait to show you.  Check in soon!

Until then, have an amazing Labor day weekend and make sure you get outside and enjoy the last days of summer.  Even though it’s sad that summer is coming to an end, don’t forget all the wonderful things that autumn brings-  crisp air, gorgeous red and yellow leaves in the trees, trench coats, leather boots, and Halloween!   What are your favorite things about Fall?

This Week’s Inspiration Minute

Every week we will take turns blogging about something we came across that inspires us.  I come from an Asian upbringing, and is it our tradition to honor our parents during the wedding ceremony.  At my wedding, we presented both my parents and my husband’s parents with flowers.  We also put out beautifully framed pictures of our parents on their wedding day on display at the reception.  Looking at those photos made me feel so connected to them- the same beaming smile on my mother’s face was on my face that day.  She looked so elegant in a simple A-line dress in white satin.  She is still just as elegant- and they just celebrated their 35th anniversary! 

So, this week I wanted to share a cute site I ran across that celebrates the lives of our parents.  Elliot Glazer is a blogger that put together a photo blog that asks people to post pics of their parents in their glory days- how did they look before they were parents.  It’s called My Parents Were Awesome and well, it’s just awesome.  Check it out here.  Seeing these photos and rocking retro fashion may inspire you to include your parents and their awesomeness into your special day.

What’s for dinner?

Menu cards are a great way to not only provide information for your guests but add a punch of color to the table setting and tie the color and theme of the wedding into the reception hall.  Believe me, they do not remember what they ordered 2 months ago when they FINALLY sent back their reply.    Even if they did, I’m sure a bunch change their minds once they get there anyway.  So here’s your chance to show off what a foodie couple you are and make sure that those 30 minutes you spent agonizing over the marsala versus piccata was all worth it to create a tasty classy 3 course meal.  Also want to put a special shout out for the band or directions to the now popular after-party?  We can add customize these menus for all your needs.

We recently compelted an order for customized gift tags for Cindy Patrick Photography.  Her photography skills are amazing- just check out her website, her galleries speak for themselves.  Her motto is ”creative photography with a fine-art aesthetic”- so the gift tag to accompany the photos for her clients had to match the contemporary sophistication of her work.  She chose the luggage tag in a chocolate brown which we inserted iwth a white insert and veneer top layer with a heavier embossing treatment for more catch-your-eye impact.  She was very pleased with the results (you can read her review here)- what do you think?

I love tags.  It’s amazing that one little token can take something relatively ordinary and make it into an upscale keepsake gift.  A small investment for big impact- for me they are the pièce de résistance!

Local food, wine and vendors are coming together for the launch of Birchtree Catering, a South Philadelphia-based small business venture between friends that focuses on fresh local food and sustainable events.
To highlight the local businesses and organizations that have supported us during our growth, we’re holding our launch party and vendor showcase at the Fleisher Art Memorial on August 19th from 6-9 pm.
